The Pregnancy Care Center honored National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday January 18, 2015 by hosting a Line-Up for Life. The room was filled with energy as 70 people gathered together to show thier support for life. Excutive Director Christie Corey read the first Presidental Proclamation of Sanctity of Human Life by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Christie shared "Lest you think you are just showing up and holding a sign, as President Reagan called on the US Citizens to gather together in places of worship and give thanks for the gift of life and reaffirm our commitment to the sanctity of human life, that is what we are doing." One of the services the Pregnancy Care Center offers is post abortion counseling. Christie read a written testimony of a lady who received help and healing from abortion. It was moving to hear a client share her pain in deciding to choose abortion, carried that pain for years and then to hear how God brought her to a place of forgiveness and freedom. Pastor Darren Bonville shared Scriptures on the sacredness of life and the importance of Memorial Services held by PCC. April Belyea, board member, shared the impact the Pregnancy Care Center's post-abortion counseling had on her friend who chose abortion. April's friend invited her to a Memorial Service. The Memorial Service is to 1) Give honor and dignity to the baby. 2) Provide a place for the mom to grieve the loss of her baby and the people she invites to share in that grief. Dave Pickens, board member, prayed and then everyone took their positive-life affirming signs and headed out the door to be a silent witness to the sanctity of human life.
